WEA is committed to provide a high quality of professional services with full recognition of modern economic considerations, and takes pride in securing many repeat assignments from its many clients.

WEA is registered with the Department of the Treasury, Langkawi Development Authority and the Penang Development Corporation and is on the Geotechnical, Civil & Structural Engineering Consultant Panel of Putra Perdana Development Sdn. Bhd. (formerly Kamunting Development Sdn. Bhd.) WEA is also on the engineering expert panel of Mestari Adjusters Sdn. Bhd. MSM International Adjusters (M) Sdn. Bhd., Charles Taylor Adjusting (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. and Crawford & Company Adjusters (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (for construction related insurance claims).

In addition to securing projects in the private sector, WEA undertook projects of government and semi-government agencies and departments. Its many projects include cable car structures and foundations (Gunung Machincang Cable Car at Pulau Langkawi), infrastructure, hill-slope developments, housing developments, low-rise to high-rise residential, commercial buildings and industrial buildings.

WEA carries out specialist geotechnical and structural engineering studies and designs in the fields of deep foundations, deep basement excavations, soil and rock slope stability, soil improvements, cable car steel support structures, value engineering of structural designs and structural appraisals (audits) and repairs.

WEA served as technical adviser for the MASCON Formwork System from 1990 to 1994 and for the BINARI Formwork System from 1994 to date. It participated in establishing the working details of BINARI’s formwork components. It also served as the technical adviser for the PRIMA Formwork System during the system’s formation stage.

WEA has vast experience in the design of shear wall buildings using the aforesaid formwork systems.

In 2001, WEA worked on a research grant from the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment on research “relating to the design and development of factory manufactured/ industrially produced low and medium cost houses”. The resulting precast concrete building system is very cost effective and produces high quality concrete structures. The precast structural elements include precast half slabs, wall panels, columns, beams and staircases. Special and efficient joint details were researched and developed to provide expediency in forming connections at site. The system underwent thorough review by the Structural Division of the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok.

Layout and earthworks plans of 52 acres

WEA’s international activities include housing and medium rise apartment projects in Thailand, Vietnam, Mauritius and the Seychelles Islands.

For Structural Analysis and Design, WEA uses Tekla Structural Designer (TSD) , a powerful Structural Analysis and Design Software, TSD is often used in conjunction with various BIM Software including Autodesk Revit. For a Project using Revit, TSD has Direct Integrator to convert the Structural BIM Model into RVT Native Formats without having to remodel the BIM Model. Our design is therefore BIM compliant which will assist Developers, Main Contractors, Architects and M&E Engineers to collaborate and coordinate their designs.
